Keeping the Spark

Hello Friends,
I’m back! I’ve recently gotten sidetracked with other things but I’m now ready to share with you again here at the Preacher’s Corner.
For those of you who were not able to join us for our fall revival, you missed a real blessing. Brother Cody Rader did an outstanding job of singing and preaching all week. God used him to bless me, and I also saw how he blessed so many others as well.
But my concern is that this is more than just having the church get excited for a few days and then quickly slide back down to the same old same old! I’m convinced God lit a spark here at Whitmell this week, but now it’s up to us to keep the revival fires stoked!
Those of us who have grown up in the church must continually remind ourselves that the world we live in has changed tremendously. Many have mistaken ideas about Jesus and more and more have little to no knowledge of Him or His Word.
We have to seek new ways to communicate the Lord’s message. Ways that will connect the truth of God’s Word to each new generation. And a big part of that is making sure that they not only hear the message but see it lived out in our lives as individual Christians and as His Church.
And we must always remember that revival comes by His power and not ours.
We as God’s people must constantly seek His power and help to be the people we should be. As Cody so effectively preached on Tuesday night, we’ve got to learn to pray like Jesus did if the changes we felt from our revival are to last.
I know I have much to be thankful for in serving here at Whitmell Christian Church. But I also know God would want us to do greater things for His Kingdom. With God’s help, we can become a church that makes a real difference in our community for the cause of Christ.
Until next time.
All glory be to God,
Tim
